Curriculum Development
Students deserve access to high quality educational materials regardless of income level. By creating a wide range of print and digital products for students and teachers and making them available on a variety of platforms, we can remove the barriers to participation that often result in so many children being left out of history, science, and ELA education.
Classroom Materials
"From the Collection to the Classroom: Teaching History with The National WWII Museum" is a 4-volume curriculum series covering the Home Front, the war in the Pacific, the war in Europe, the Holocaust, and the Legacy of World War II. Each volume contains classroom-ready lesson plans, primary sources from the archives, vocabulary lists, and oral history segments. All volumes are available in both print and digitally, and have been used by more than 500,000 students nationwide.
Professional Development
Professional development is critical for teachers to stay current on best practices in the classroom, and is a unique opportunity for museums, archives, and libraries to showcase their collections to new and young audiences. I have worked to develop and launch both in-person and digital workshops across multiple subject areas including history, ELA, science, and geography.
Student Programs
In addition to helping to facilitate Louisiana’s state National History Day competition, my team has developed and launched STEM programs including an annual Robotics Challenge, leadership academies and study abroad opportunities, early childhood programs, and workshops and events for youth and families including an annual Family Block Party.
